Korean used-car data: every site, one record

The Korean used-car market is spread over several sites, and the same car is often listed on more than one. Here is how to read them together, with the inspection records and insurance histories Korean listings carry.

What is it about?

Many sites, one market

Korea has no single place where every used car is listed. Encar is the best known, KB ChaChaCha gathers dealer stock, K Car sells cars it has bought and checked itself, and apps such as HeyDealer bring private cars to dealers.

An importer who watches only one site sees only part of the stock and cannot tell whether a price is good. Reading several sites is the only way to see the market.

One record for every site

Through MotorAPIs, every Korean site is returned in the same car record: make, model and generation from one shared catalog, the asking price, mileage, photos, equipment and location. Code that reads one site reads them all.

When the same car is listed on several sites, it is one car with several listings. Each listing keeps its own site, ID, price and link, so you can see every place the car is offered and at what price.

Inspections and insurance history

Korean listings often carry two documents that buyers elsewhere rarely get:

  • The performance and condition inspection: each panel original, repaired or replaced, the frame, leaks, engine and gearbox
  • The insurance history: accidents insurers paid for, owner and plate changes, flood, theft and total loss records

Labels in your language

Inspection and history items are returned with labels in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Bulgarian or Albanian, and the site’s own Korean wording stays next to each label as evidence. Your buyers read the report in their language; nothing of the original is lost.

A missing report is marked as unknown, never as fine. The Korean reports page lists every part in detail.

Korea and beyond

The same record covers more than Korea: Chinese sites such as Che168 and Dongchedi publish inspections in the same structure, and the same record carries marketplaces in Japan, Europe and North America. The coverage page lists every connected site.
