Terms of service

1. The service

MotorAPIs provides read-only access to vehicle data collected from public sources, such as Copart, IAAI and Encar, through an API. The API returns data only: it cannot place bids, buy vehicles or act on any source on your behalf.

MotorAPIs is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any source. Trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to describe where data comes from.

2. API keys

Access requires a personal API key. Keep it secret, send it only in the x-api-key header, and do not share it with third parties. You are responsible for all requests made with your key.

We may suspend or revoke a key that is shared, abused, used to overload the service or used against these terms.

3. Plans and payment

Plans (Demo access, Small, Unlimited) differ in the sources and features they include. The price and the scope of a paid plan are agreed in writing before access starts. A demo key is provided free of charge to evaluate the API and may be limited or ended at any time.

4. Data accuracy

Data is collected from the sources as published and may contain errors, delays or gaps. Bid amounts, seller reserves and prices are shown as data from the source: a seller reserve is never a sale price, and no value is a guarantee of any vehicle's condition or history.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• resell raw API access or share your key;
• use the service for unlawful purposes or to infringe the rights of others;
• attempt to bypass limits, access controls or security measures;
• send requests designed to disrupt or overload the service.

6. Availability

We work to keep the API available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Sources can change or block access without notice; we restore affected data as soon as we reasonably can.

7. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or decisions made based on the data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the three months before the claim.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
